"There is not enough space" when copying files to a RAMDisk (ramfs)
Affected version
- Nightly flatpak: Yes
- Other: also tested 42.1.1 (Fedora 36)
Steps to reproduce
- Open up a Terminal and mount a
ramfs
RAMDisk in current user's home folder:
mkdir ~/RAMDisk
sudo mount -t ramfs none ~/RAMDisk
sudo chown $USER:$USER ~/RAMDisk
-
Open Files, copy a file in your home folder. In the screencast below I demonstrate copying an image from
~/Pictures
. -
Navifate to
~/RAMDisk
in Files application. Paste file from buffer.
Current behavior
An error modal dialog pops up. It says "There is not enough space on the destination".
Expected behavior
File needs to be copied without errors since ramfs
is dynamically sized.
