Computer freeze when trying to choose gvfs subfolder path to save attached files in Thunderbird
Hello,
@antoniof send me here to report possible bug.
Here it is :
Prerequisites
- OS : Ubuntu 19.04
- gvfs : 1.40.1-1ubuntu0.1 amd64
- Nautilus : 1:3.32.1-0ubuntu0.19.04.0 Source : ubuntu-disco-updates-main
- Thunderbird : 1:60.8.0+build1-0ubuntu0.19.04.1 amd64
Expected Behaviour
Save attached files to remote folder mounted by nautilus using davs://
Actual behaviour
- Dialog box to select where to save freeze when going through the run/user/1000/gvfs/paths/to/the/file
- When going to the third subfolder, the dialog box became white, the pointer shows busy.
- CPU shows 100% activity on one of the 4 cores
- Thunderbird shows 24% of GPU
- The Cancel button of the dialog box goes normal
Steps to reproduce :
- Open Thunderbird
- Select a mail with file attached
- Click : "Tout enregistrer" (save all attached files)
- Dialog box opens with gvfs paths
- going to the third sub folder (/run/user/1000/gvfs/dav:host:remote.server.org,ssl=true/files/myuser@remote/
- Type to search in the folder
- The mouse pointer busy
- System information gives a 100% use for a core, 25% for Thunderbird process
- Cancel button doesn-t go back
- have to kill Thunderbird
Context
- Use of davs:// automatic mount point in Nautilus cause this sort of problems with Thunderbird and LibreOffice
- Doesn't happen when working on file from the same drive but mounted via fdavfs in fstab
