Description
as described in #582438, epiphany used to show web sites offered locally via dns-sd as _http._tcp in "'nearby sites' bookmarks"; a feature that got dropped during refactoring.
as explained there, the feature of offering nearby sites to the user is helpful when network printers, web-frontend managed bittorrent clients, local wikis or similar are present on a site.
one idea that came up discussing the regression was moving the functionality over to the network:///
location (ie. nautilus' view of everything in the "network neighborhood"). comparing to the file-opening approaches of "browse directories, pick file, open with default application" and "open application, browse directories for suitable files", this would cater for the former, and provide an obvious place to look for things around on the network.
is this an approach that would be gvfs developers (and probably nautilus, as network:/// to me seems not to be practically used by anything that's not a file manager, as opposed to most other protocols) would consider adding?
