Description
First I want to describe my current setup and what I have currently tracked down. I have a server running with openvpn and a bridged network. On the server side I'm using rygel and want to access my music on the clients with rhythmbox 2.95 and the grilo plugin.
When my client is in the same physical subnet this works flawless. When I try to access it via the VPN nothing shows up in rhythmbox. When I tried to use eezUPNP via VPN the share was found. So the VPN connection should work, but I'm no networking expert.
Nevertheless I read that grilo uses gupnp and after some peaking at the source code I recompiled gupnp without NetworkManager support and now it's also working via VPN.
Is this by design? As I read something about ignoring PtP devices on the mailing list, but as far as I know a tap device is not one.
