Distorted image during slide transition
Description
During the slide transition between images, there is a brief moment where the less visible image is distorted. This is not really observable when using the keys or buttons in order to navigate between images but only when using the touchpad and swiping to fingers really slowly. Nevertheless I'm pretty sure the reason for the distortions is independent of the input device used to switch between images.

Steps to reproduce
- Open a folder with images that have details on the left and right edge (that makes it easier to observe the distortions)
- Use two fingers on a touchpad to swipe to the next picture very slowly.
- Just in the moment when the next image enters the view (0-2cm visible) one can see that the entering image gets kind of stretched vertically and the amount of stretch changes when proceeding the swipe. The intensity of stretch seems to depend on the visible fraction of the next image. It becomes less and disappears the more the next picture becomes visible.
- The same effect can be observed when reversing the swipe gesture. Just when the image is about to move out of the view completely it has the same stretching effect.
