Have you tested Nightly to see if the issue has been fixed? If not, why?
- I have not tested Nightly. Usually I don't use this editor, there are some features (extensions) in gedit that makes it better suited for my purposes.
Bug information
Steps to reproduce
- Open the editor
- Copy some text from some other app
- Attempt to paste text into the Gnome text editor
Text may appear the first time, then nothing happen on later attempts. I first noted this behaviour when editing logs created by gtimelog.
Checked once more, and now copy-paste works from windows that failed just a few minutes ago. I can not copy-pase inside the logs.
Still more testing, it seems like it happen sometimes. That is, popup menu closes on activate, but nothing is pasted into the doc.
It seems like I can't paste into some lines, in particular the last line in the logs created by gtimelog. Copy-pasting into an UTF-8 encode-decode utility does not show anything unusual. Copy-pasting into gedit and creating a new file does not give the weird behaviour. Likewise editing the original file, and then loading it into Gnome text editor.
Checked once more that the weird behaviour persisted if I closed the on-going edits and reloaded the log from gtimelog. It did.
This is the final line of the offending file ends in Unicode Character 'LINE FEED (LF)' (U+000A), nothing weird there.
