Text view sometimes makes large jumps when starting to scroll
Affected version
- Nightly flatpak: Yes
- Other: Fedora 36, Builder 43.4 Flatpak, X11
Steps to reproduce
Ok, first excuse me, as this is a bit unprecise because I can’t really reproduce it, but I know at which action it occurs when it occurs. This happens since a few months to me (I assume since Builder 43). When writing some AsciiDoc markup text, it happens about every 5-10 minutes to me, so it is not that rare. Maybe it’s due to X11 (which I need for MS Teams). This jumping scrolling behavior never happened in other programs.
The quirk occasionally happens when I do the following:
- Go with the mouse cursor off Builder’s window.
- Some time liter (for me usually around 30s), hover back over Builder’s window and start scrolling (doesn’t matter if the window is active or inactive).
- Very rarely it happens while working in Builder (i.e. without the mouse cursor having to leave the window).
- It never happens during scrolling – solely at the very start of the wheel movement.
Current behavior
Even when I start scrolling slowly – with the first bit of movement of the mouse wheel, the view sometimes immediately jumps about one full screen instead of scrolling slowly. After that one jump, scrolling continues to work fine.
Even when I scroll down, the view sometimes jumps upwards instead of downwards.
Expected behavior
Regular smooth scrolling without jumping.
