Drop down menu instability when the window stretched larger than 1440x900
Affected version
- Nightly flatpak: No
- Other: Arch GNU/Linux
- Flatpak stable:
flatpak run org.gnome.Builder --version --verbose 04:13:10.4867 main[ 2]: MESSAGE: GNOME Builder 43.2 (43.2) from channel "flatpak-stable" starting with ABI 43 04:13:10.4867 main[ 2]: MESSAGE: Initializing with sway desktop and GTK+ 4.8.2. GNOME Builder 43.2
- Arch Official Repository:
GNOME Builder 43.2
- Flatpak stable:
Steps to reproduce
- On a multi-monitor setup, with one monitor scaled 1x and the other scaled 2x...
- On the monitor scaled to 1x, launch any GTK4 app such as Nautilus, Gnome Calculator, Gnome Builder, etc.
- Try to make the window as big as possible (>1440x900px)
OR Use tiling wayland compositor to increase the window to maximum space (>1440x900). - Interact with dropdown menus.
Current behavior
The window does not get bigger than 1440x900 pixels (measured with GIMP). Using dropdown menus results in flickering, ghost images, and unclickable options.
Expected behavior
Dropdown menus should not be so unstable
Additional information
All this is running under Sway/wlroots. The nightly version does not have any of these problems.
The version of GTK installed is 4.8.2
.
This problem occurs on my monitor that is scaled 1x (1920x1080), but does not happen on my monitor that is scaled 2x (2880x1800) perhaps because 2880x1800/2 is 1440x900. This is a multi monitor setup. I have not tried testing on a my 1920x1080 monitor only, as I'm not sure how to deactivate my laptop monitor (and I'm not sure I want to try).
