Adding an option to recover old dead keys behavior
Until a while ago, when typing letters with accents, say, "â", typing the accent wouldn't show anything, and typing the letter "a" would show the character "â".
That behavior is the one expected by most native speakers of languages that use accents, since it is the default behavior on Windows and on Linux until these change on GTK were made.
Having an accent show up before the letter is typed is confusing for people typing in those languages and can be quite distracting. I've read this blog post and the other issues, but I thought it could be a good thing to draw attention to the discussion again, since it does affect all users that speak these languages.
Is there any chance we could get an option to recover this expected functionality for the sake of the speakers of these non-English languages?
