Filechooser Save as - issue when changing the file filter setting
Linux Mint 20.3 Cinnamon libgtk-3-0 version 3.24.20-0ubuntu1.1
Apologies if this has been reported (I have searched the issues for "chooser" and also for "save" without finding anything similar) or if the behaviour is as expected.
An issue has been reported for Linux Mint 20.3 xviewer which is as follows:
- Use xviewer to open file a.tif from a folder that contains a.tif, b.jpg and c.png
- Select File/Save as
- As the dialog is set initially to show all image file types all 3 images are shown by the dialog
- The Name field shows "a.tif"
- Change the filter box setting from "Supported image files" to "JPEG (jpeg)"
- The contents of the Name field then change to show "b.jpg" - I would have expected that just the file extension changed and the first part of the file name stayed the same - i.e. the expected result would be "a.jpg"
I have attached a zip file containing three test image files named as noted above and a small gtk task that can be used to see the problem (rather than the whole of the xviewer source code). The included file Notes.txt gives details on compiling and running the example from a terminal window. The prebuilt version example-0 is also included.GTK_Test.zip
