Feature Request : Configurable context menu delay for touch input
Feature summary
When long pressing a window on touch screen, allow user to configure how long until the context menu appears
I believe this is the right place, as the shell has to handle this along with Settings, right?
How would you like it to work
New section in "Mouse & Touchpad" (Settings) (possibly need renaming after this) called "Touchscreen". First new option, a slider to configure delay before the context menu.
Issue that would be solved
Sometimes a user does not apply consistent pressure to the screen, or may have difficulties retaining pressure on the screen.
By allowing the user to adjust the time before the context menu is opened, it would allow people to have a more comfortable and/or snappy experience.
In the video below (around have way through) you can see an annoying behavior in which my long press takes too long for me, and I retry it again.
Relevant links, screenshots, screencasts etc.
Annoying behavior visualized
Notice how it is somewhat hard to open up the context menu
gnome-shell#1622 could be useful in the case that my touch is not being registered, currently I cannot really tell.
