Enhancement: implement one setting to turn off touch-related scrollbar behaviors
In spite of common usage, some users of GTK are in well-defined restricted environments, including but not limited to:
- embedded systems with fixed hardware, such as trackballs, joysticks, or mice without scroll wheels
- secure systems, including no Internet connection
- consistent UI systems that lock out user configuration
GTK+ 3's touch-related scroll indicator system needs to be able to be reverted to conventional scrollbar operation in one easy step, rather than a mixture of settings and theme elements. Currently one setting to revert scrolling to paging on click is implemented.
This issue proposes an additional single setting that would completely restore classic scrollbar UI. This would include:
- restoring the classic trough, slider/thumb, and arrows
- paging when clicking in the trough not covered by the slider
- finer scrolling using the arrows
- eliminating fadeout of scrollbars
