fileChooser settings reset by Evince
I prefer to list directories first since that makes traveling into a (deep) directory structure difficult. I therefor have searched for ways to configure this and found gsettings
to help me. Sadly my setting was reset at some point. Lately I found that Evince seems to reset it. I'm not sure if I should file my bug here or in the evince issue list. I did not find similar issues in either issue list so I'll start here.
Steps to reproduce
- Check current setting:
gsettings get org.gtk.Settings.FileChooser sort-directories-first
should returntrue
. Otherwise set it usinggsettings set org.gtk.Settings.FileChooser sort-directories-first true
- Run
evince
(version3.22.1
) and in Evince open the file open dialog (ctrl
+o
)
Current behavior
A filechooser is opened with a alphabetically sorted list of files and directories. Also the setting in org.gtk.Settings.FileChooser sort-directories-first
is set to false
.
Expected outcome
A filechooser is opened with a alphabetically sorted) list of directories and below that a list of files.

## Additional information
I will create another issue to request to set the default of `sort-directories-first` to `true`.
