Order photos by filename in browser
gThumb orders files in the browser by the Modified Date & Time, it seems (I just found out).
This brings a lot of confusion when we start to edit files, process raws, or when we simply have a folder with various pictures from different sources. It only becomes logical when the user displays the Modified Date & Time in the browser, which necessitates a trip to the preferences and a change from the default settings.
Usually an output file is named the same as the input file when we do any image manipulations. But then, the Modified Date & Time for the newly created file is very recent, and it gets shown last in the browser, when users would expect it to show up next to the original, and also next in queue when using the viewer. Even when we edit photos with gThumb itself, the newly produced (or newly overwritten) files show up somewhere completely different from where they are expected. As a result, once has to leave the viewer, go back to the browser and search for the files.
It would be perfect to simply follow the default behavior of the native file browser (usually sort by name) or to give the option to sort according to different file properties, explicitly.
