Bad error message: Unable to find or create trash directory for…
Fedora 33, gthumb-3.10.3-1.fc33.x86_64.
I am browsing a photo directory, and have an image open. When I press Del
key to remove an image, gThumb shows dialog window with the following content:
Could not move the files to the Trash
Unable to find or create trash directory for /home/vdb/photos/2021/06/07/-
21-00011.jpg
[Ok]
There are two problems in this error message:
- The error message does not include the actual name of the trash directory gThumb tried to create or find.
- The error message includes neither error code nor system error message.
How can I figure out reason for the failure? If I know exact name of the trash directory I could try to create such directory manually and see the error, I could check permissions, etc. But now I have no clue to the problem solution.
BTW, The image file name is hyphenated. It is misleading. It would be better to show image file name it as-is, without inserting a hyphen which is not a part of the actual file name.
