localization problem? different evaluation of dash characters.
the manual proposes to start gnumeric with e.g 'LC_ALL=fr_FR gnumeric &' https://help.gnome.org/users/gnumeric/stable/sect-configuration-localization.html.en.
For me when doing so ( tried en_US, "en_US", de_DE, "de_DE" ) gnumeric worked, but the evaluation of some characters looses distinctivity, ‐ / − / – / — become 'all equal'.
I tried to make a demonstrating sheet: different_-_signs_2.xml
Calling gnumeric without LC parameter or with 'LC_NUMERIC=...' results in all comparisions green, calling with 'LC_ALL=...' produces some red 'false equals' ( sparsely patched 1.12.53 long and double versions ).
The behaviour is not yet an issue for me or my work, just spotted and thought 'might be critical for some use cases'. pls. recheck and decide if any action necessary.
