Shell's automatic-location setting is turned on unconditionally when GNOME Weather app is launched
When I launch GNOME Weather application, it always sets the automatic-location
setting to true
, and there is no way to disable it. This causes that GNOME Shell will always display the weather forecasts for the automatic location instead of the selected one.
Steps to reproduce:
- Ensure that the location services are enabled, but the automatic location is disabled:
$ gsettings set org.gnome.system.location enabled true
$ gsettings set org.gnome.shell.weather automatic-location false
- Launch GNOME Weather application. Check that the automatic location setting is turned on:
$ gsettings get org.gnome.shell.weather automatic-location
- Choose a custom location within GNOME Weather, and then check that the GNOME Shell still shows the weather of the automatic location rather than the selected one.
