[Feature request] Implement the setting "ensure-trailing-newline" to enable disabling new lines at the end of file.
I'm a regular user of the Gnome Text Editor, and I've noticed a feature in gedit
that I find particularly useful. It's the ensure-trailing-newline
setting available through gsettings
under org.gnome.gedit.preferences.editor
. This setting allows users to toggle automatic insertion of new lines at the end of files.
I believe integrating a similar feature into the Gnome Text Editor would greatly enhance its usability. It provides users with the flexibility to manage trailing new lines according to their preferences, which can be particularly beneficial for various file formats and workflows.
Would it be possible to introduce this feature into the Gnome Text Editor? I'm sure many users, including myself, would greatly appreciate it.
Thank you for considering my suggestion.
Best regards,
