Bold text is not correctly aligned

Description
I am facing two (I think, related) issues with bold text. FYI, I'm using gnome-terminal 3.27.92 on Debian buster.
- The bold text displayed on the terminal is not aligned with the normal text. The bold text is displayed higher than the normal text. Please check the links below for reference. The bold typeface I'm using is Source Code Pro. You may note that I'm using a shell theme. The issue is present with and without the shell theme enabled.
- After a recent upgrade (I'm not sure which one specifically), there seems to be no ability to toggle allowing bold text on the terminal. My default profile had it disabled due to issue (1) above and when I create a new profile, it has bold text turned on by default causing issue (1) to recur.
Version: 3.27.x
