Description
When I try to paste text containing tab ( Character code 9 ) the terminal triggers auto-complete instead inserting the char.
On the same server, with the same user: Konsole: I paste script with tabs, and tabs are inserted properly. ROXTerm: I paste script with tabs and tabs are inserted properly XTerm: --- same Gnome-terminal: When i paste a script with tabs, auto-complete is triggered.
For example cut -f 3 -d "#there is tab here#" some_file
Expected result: Able to cut the file using tab delimiter
Actual result: cut -f 3 -d "#some_file name is placed here due to auto-complete#" some_file
Another example: for i in 1 2 3; do echo $i #there is 1 tab used for indentation. You may type it in gedit first. done
Expected result -> paste the script in terminal and it works Actual result -> instead of indentation of the second line i get auto-complete suggestions.
Workaround: cut -f 3 -d "<Ctrl+V+Tab>" for the second example there is no workaround.
Version: 3.14.x
Resolution: RESOLVED INVALID
