Description
Hello support, I'm now using Gnome3 for a while after nearly 5-7 years of gnome2, there're huge differences and some lacks but I'm not scared about them, I'd like to improve it where possible. Like every CommandLine guy I'm an heavy user of gnome-terminal, one of the missing feature for me is the Window Title Text Change, it's not a bug, it's just more a wishlist/feature, in gnome2 I've had a "Change Window Title" option that allowed me to change the window title. I know I can change it with:
PROMPT_COMMAND='echo -ne "\033]0;NEW TITLE HERE\007"'
but it could be boring to issue it manually on command prompt, it might be a nice idea to have it as a menu option somewhere in gnome-terminal. I don't want to issue a formal request for having it in the official tree, you're surely busy in more important things and a lot of folks probably doesn't care about it. But I wish to contribute or hack my terminal in some way, is there a way to create some sort of plugin for gnome-terminal (like gedit does) for adding functionalities, are there any samples out there where I can look at to get some useful information ?
Kind Regards Ben
