Description
Please describe the problem: Sometimes gnome-terminal gets confused and stops displaying standard characters.
Steps to reproduce:
- I back up my MBR with the command dd if=/dev/hda of=/root/mbr bs=512 count=1
- To display the file, I use cat /root/mbr
- cat displays a bunch of garbage (which is expected), but afterwards my prompt and all the characters I type are characters from the end of the ASCII character set.
Actual results:
Expected results:
Does this happen every time? Yes
Other information: This problem seems to be gnome-terminal's fault, because konsole does not have this problem.
