vte-spawn processes lingering after gnome-terminal is gone
This may not be an issue, but it might be worth to write some notes about it, and have a discussion.
After gnome-terminal has quit (as well as gnome-terminal-server), the apps-org.gnome.Terminal.slice may still be active with vte-spawn scopes. I have not identified extact reasons, I think they are mostly daemons & perhaps zombies.
In #206 (closed), @bberg suggested to use systemctl edit --user --force vte-spawn-.scope
and then add something like:
[Unit]
BindsTo=gnome-terminal-server.service
which seems to help.
He also suggested to reap the scope when the corresponding tab is closed, which I also think could be considered.
However, this would likely break the case of daemon started from the terminal.
User processes can be killed with systemctl --user kill apps-org.gnome.Terminal.slice
, but those started with different users (sudo etc) will stay around.
