Can't zoom in on screenshots

Using GNOME Software 3.27.90-1ubuntu1 on Ubuntu 18.04. I filed this bug originally on launchpad. https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-software/+bug/1751750

I can't read the contents of screenshots in GNOME Software. I would like to click on the screenshot to make it larger. Unfortunately clicking a screenshot in GNOME Software does nothing. I'd expect it to 'zoom' in, maybe making the screenshot full screen with left/right arrows to flip between screenshots, and an X to close it and return to the application view.
