Disappearing updates for Thunderbolt docking station
Hi, I've got this weird behaviour with "disappearing" updates for my (thunderbolt) docking station.
When I don't have my docking station plugged in gnome software reports that everything is up-to-date, so far, great (I love gnome software btw). But now, I plug in the docking station and gnome software (precisely: the updates page, obviously) reports two available updates for my docking station. First of all: I would assume that to be reported also without the docking station being plugged.
It gets worse. When the docking station is plugged in and gnome software reports those two available updates (see screenshot1) the following two cases are possible:
- I start to install "Thunderbolt Controller Update (43.00->60.00)" first -> Update seems to install. Then, I install "WD19 Package Dock Update (01.00.32.00->01.00.32.01)" -> It starts installing and then a window pop up (screenshot2) stating the update will continue when the device USB cable has been unplugged and a second pop up telling (well, the same). Once unplugged, the second one (with the OK-box) disappears but the other one remains while in the background you can see that everything seems up-to-date (screenshot3). Once I replug the docking station, the updates re-appear as if not installed.
- I install the wd19-package-dock-update first. Sometimes it appears to have installed but now I cannot install the thunderbolt-controller-update (the install-box disappears) (screenshot4). Sometimes, it does not "just install" but rather the same pop-ups appear. But, this is a "sometimes sometimes thing" not always the same. After replugging, both updates re-appear.
Basically, in any case I appear to be unable to install the updates. Or gnome software does not notice they were installed already. This persists after reboot, too.
