no way to see which application is in focus
Latest updates of gnome-shell removed the application menu from the topbar. now there is no way to tell which application is in focus:
- no app name in the topbar
- no app name in the headerbar of the app
- no dock to shine which icon is focused
- not enough distinguishable shadows of the currently focused app.
This results in extra effort to grab the mouse and re-target, re-click (thus re-focus) the app needed for when one needs to use a shortcut like opening a new tab.
Example: use browser and File manager for a couple of minutes and switch between them often, do some paperwork on your desk (physical), get back to your computer screen to open a new browser tab by a shortcut ctrl+T , a new tab in files gets open instead of in the browser. This is even made worse by the fact that when the window overlap each other, in certain situations even if the below window gets focus, it stays below. Insane.
macOS for example has deep/wide distinguishable shadows and their calibrated IPS screen, so on every mac from every angle you can see which window has focus, even so, they keep the app name in the tob panel. Windows has their allways visible task bar. gnome-shell now lacks either or these :(. Please fix!
