Make all touchpad gestures follow motion
The recent commit for workspace switching gestures made the GNOME experience on laptops much smoother: e5c95b91
However, all other gestures in GNOME Shell don't currently respond dynamically to touchpad swipes.
Some examples:
-
the "show overview" 3-finger pinch Screencast_da_07-11-2018_13_44_53
-
the one for switching between app grid pages, which is already implemented for following touch screen motion instead, and which has an extremely low threshold on touchpads (one mouse wheel step probably?) that makes it fast forward to the first or last page on a swipe of just 1cm or so Screencast_da_07-11-2018_13_46_36
-
the one for switching between workspaces in Overview mode
I'm still on 3.28, but from my testing of 3.30 on Ubuntu those weren't "following motion" at the moment. I think touchpad gestures are essential nowadays that we've become used to smartphone/mobile UIs, so having more (maybe even configurable) gestures would also be welcome IMO.
