Active workspace changes on terminal bell
Affected version
Running GNOME on Wayland in Archlinux
gnome-shell 46.0
mutter 46.0
Bug summary
If an application requests attention (like a terminal sending a bell alert) gnome-shell (or is it mutter?) sends me to the workspace of said application which interrupts my work and the behavior doesn't seem to be configurable.
At first I thought it would be related to Window Focus settings, but Click to Focus presents the same problem.
Steps to reproduce
- Open a terminal and run
sleep 5; echo -e "\a"
. - Switch to other workspace
- Notice you'll be back on the initial workspace within five seconds
What happened
GNOME Shell changed the active workspace
What did you expect to happen
GNOME Shell doesn't change the active workspace
