Calendar widget showing '&d' for all dates (norwegian interface)
Affected version
System information:
- Fedora Linux 39 (Workstation Edition), both regular and Silverblue variants
- Since GNOME Shell 45 (at least)
- I have only tested under Wayland, but assume this is the same on Xorg.
- This bug is present on a clean install, I have tried both Silverblue and regular.
Bug summary
The Calendar Widget (accessed from the top panel / clock) displays '&d' for all days of the month when using the Norwegian language for the user interface. This bug has been reported on other forums, but I could not find an issue in this bug tracker.
Steps to reproduce
- Install the latest Fedora Workstation (or other distros using GNOME Shell 42->).
- Set interface language to Norwegian.

Possible causes
My guess is that the problem is related to i18n and that there has been a typo or small error made somewhere in the code related to the translation of the calendar widget. I tried finding the relevant part of the code, but I'm not familiar with the project so I could not find it. The bug was introduced when I upgraded from Fedora 38 to 39.
