Moving apps from folder to app grid fails on the second time
Affected version
Fedora 38
GNOME Shell 44.2
Wayland session
Extensions disabled and session restarted
Bug summary
Moving an app from a folder to the app grid fails on first try. After it fails, the following may happen:
- Unable to move any app from folder to app grid;
- Icons overlap within folder;
- Folder view is forcefully kept on the last page;
- Able to move a different app from folder to app grid or move the same app if done really slowly.
Steps to reproduce
- Open app grid
- Open folder view
- Click and drag an app from folder to outer space
- Wait a bit before releasing so that the view changes from folder to grid
What happened
App icon just floats away to the left and behaviour listed may happen. For behavior 3 the view is changed instantly if you are on the first of three pages and almost instantly if you are on the second of three pages or first of two pages. Sometimes I can move icons a lot quickier after this bug, as in I don't have to wait before releasing icons anywhere (grid to folder, reorder, folder to grid).
What did you expect to happen
App icon to be moved from folder to app grid.
Relevant logs, screenshots, screencasts etc.
This overlap is only solved after I reorder any two apps within the folder. The hover effect acts as if the app on top is selected.
