Enter key not working in combination with modifier keys
Affected version
Manjaro GNOME 44.1, shell zsh 5.9. XOrg. WM: Mutter. (But if I remember correctly, at least GNOME 42, 43, too)
Bug summary
For example at the lock screen, the ENTER key is not registering when any modifier key (ctrl, alt, shift) is still being pressed. The annoyance is that for any user whose password is ending on a capital letter, is bound (many times, at least) to still holding onto the shift key when pressing the enter key at the very end. The result is that you wait awkwardly and nothing happens because the system did not pick up on the Enter key being pressed.
Steps to reproduce
- Go to lock screen (ctrl+L).
- Type your password but hold shift (or any other modifier key) when pressing enter.
- No reaction. No login.
What did you expect to happen
It should have logged me in, regardless of whether I was still holding onto the shift key (or any other modifier key). I do not think it's reasonable to expect from users to type in their password more carefully or slowly. I think that if you were to actually use a capital letter at the end of your password, everyone will encounter this issue.
