If a new WiFi network with PEAP authentication is selected in the quick-access menu, nothing happens
Affected version
- Your OS and version: Fedora 37
- Affected GNOME Shell version: 43.2
- Does this issue appear in XOrg and/or Wayland: Tested only on Wayland
- Does this issue happen without extensions: Yes
Bug summary
If I use quick-access menu (the one that opens if I click on a tray in the top-right corner of the screen) and use its Wi-Fi submenu to select a new (not configured previously) network which uses PEAP authentication, nothing happens (I would expect a network configuration window to appear). At the same time, I can configure this very network if I open Gnome Control Center's Wi-Fi panel and select this network there.
Steps to reproduce
- Have a not configured previously network with PEAP authentication type
- Click on the tray in the top-right corner of the screen
- Click on the Wi-Fi icon
- Select this network in the list of available networks
What happened
The network list closes, nothing else happens
What did you expect to happen
A configuration window for this network should open
Extra details
I have tested this with two similar networks, which both use PEAP authentication type. In fact, when the configuration window is opened for these networks via the Wi-Fi panel of Gnome Control Center it automatically detects the authentication method as Tunneled TLS, which I then change to PEAP. I am not sure if this is relevant in the context of this bug.
