Automatic screen rotation not working with GNOME 42.5 on Xorg
Screen rotation is not working on my Yoga 2 running Manjaro on X11 with GNOME 42.5:
System:
Host: manjaro-yoga Kernel: 5.15.74-3-MANJARO arch: x86_64 bits: 64
Desktop: GNOME v: 42.5 Distro: Manjaro Linux
I saw a similar issue for Wayland, but since it appears to involve Mutter, they may not be related.
I have iio-sensor-proxy
3.4-1 installed, and my boot parameter includes i915.nomodeset=0
, as that was necessary at some prior iteration.
monitor-sensor -a
results in the following:
Waiting for iio-sensor-proxy to appear
+++ iio-sensor-proxy appeared
=== Has accelerometer (orientation: normal)
=== Has ambient light sensor (value: 43.999999, unit: lux)
=== No proximity sensor
I don't know when this started, but it seems to have coincided with the random screen rotations that would occur about 1x per week and that I had to solve using xrandr -o normal
.
