Lock screen sometimes switches to GDM on F37
Affected version
Fedora 37 Silverblue
43.beta, gnome-shell-43~rc-2.fc37.x86_64
Wayland
This didn't happen on Fedora 36.
Bug summary
Sometimes when activating my laptop which was locked with screen blanked or suspended, I find myself in GDM instead of the session lock screen. Logging in in GDM works fine, so the session is alive, but for some reason it had switched to GDM. This is somewhat annoying because on the session lock screen you can start typing the password and hit enter, whereas when I get a GDM typing the password does nothing and I have to do an extra step.
Steps to reproduce
- Lock the screen or leave the computer to blank the screen or suspend.
- Wait some time.
- Activate the computer again.
What happened
Sometimes you will see GDM instead of the gnome-shell lock screen.
What did you expect to happen
gnome-shell lock screen always.
Relevant logs, screenshots, screencasts etc.
The following journal starts a bit before either a lock or a screen blank (forgot what it was), then at 22:49:41 GDM seems to trigger, then I log in normally back into my running session:
