Moving and resizing windows becomes 'sticky' after a while
Affected version
- Fedora 36
- kernel-5.18.7
- mutter-42.2
- gnome-shell-42.2
- 4K display on amdgpu graphics (Ryzen 5700G APU)
- Operating under Wayland
Bug summary
After some time in operation (around a day or so), attempts to resize or move windows show a short pause in responsiveness. When the mouse button is depressed to begin the drag, the cursor freezes for a noticeable fraction of a second. It then begins to move and the window move or drag operation continues freely.
Restarting GNOME Shell clears this.
Steps to reproduce
- Leave GNOME Shell running for a few days. Activity level doesn't seem to matter, I see this after idling.
- Move or resize a window.
What happened
Short freeze before window drag begins.
What did you expect to happen
Instant response to drag.
