Accessibility Zoom Turned On by default
Feature summary
Accessibility -> Zoom Turned on by default. It would make life easier for people with disabilities if we could just zoom in without having to go through all the hurdles of finding and turning on zoom in settings. Speaking for myself, I am Visually impaired and heavily rely on zoom to use my computer but, whenever i setup a new distro or something similar i have to struggle a lot just to turn on zoom as i cannot read text clearly unless zoomed in and/or without a darker background. So, My first experience with gnome has always been a struggle to set things up. Whereas, In KDE and other desktop environments since i could just zoom in with the shortcut super + plus (+)
i could just start using my desktop naturally and quickly. You could argue that its better if i just remember and use the shortcut to Turn zoom on or off
or search for zoom on Gnome overview still, One less step provides better User experience.
How would you like it to work
Gnome should let the user zoom in with just the shortcut for zooming in instead of having to explicitely turn on zoom.
- zoom should be turned on by default in Settings -> Accessibility, Which is preferable
- Or, Zoom should turn on as the user hits the shortcut for zooming in the first time.
It is also preferable that the shortcut for Zooming in and Zooming out use the standard shortcut super + plus (+)
and super + Minus (-)
respectively so it would be more consistant, friendly and in sync with all other desktop environments
