Remote Desktop cannot be disabled through the settings
Affected version
- Ubuntu 22.04
- GNOME Shell 42.0
- Tested with Xorg
Bug summary
If I disable "Remote Desktop" in Settings > Sharing, then log out and back in, Remote Desktop is enabled again.
Steps to reproduce
- Open Settings
- Switch to Sharing settings
- Disable Remote Dektop
- Log out and in
- Open the Sharing settings again
- See Remote Desktop enabled
What happened
Remote Desktop was enabled again.
What did you expect to happen
Remote Desktop was should stay disabled.
Relevant logs, screenshots, screencasts etc.
I checked gsettings get org.gnome.desktop.remote-desktop.rdp enable
and it stays true
no matter if Remote Desktop is disabled in the settings or enabled. If I disable Remote Desktop using gsettings
, it stays disabled after a login. However, if I enable Remote Deskop through the UI settings, the gsettings
value is changed to true
.
So the settings UI can enable Remote Desktop but not disable it.
