System journal plagued with repeated entries

Bug summary
Recent version of gnome shell have been emitting large numbers of identical, or quote similar, entries in the system journal.
Steps to reproduce
Turn off the display monitor.
What happened
1000s of this type of entry. They stop when the monitor is on. There are 100s of these per second.

Then a bunch (about 80) of these
2022-04-28T09:58:46-0700 sma-station14l firefox[28431]: Couldn't map window 0x7fad0c1678c0 as subsurface because its parent is not mapped.
And these (about 230)
2022-04-28T10:00:26-0700 sma-station14l gnome-shell[10677]: Object 0x7f30f61ac890 of type IBusText has been finalized while it was still owned by gjs, this is due to invalid memory management.
And these (80)

What did you expect to happen
Some reasonable limit on the number of duplicate journal entries.
