Hard to bring back dialogs minimized after accidental use of Super+h
I was trying to save a document, for which I had the Gtk File Chooser open to select the folder and the name of the file. I accidentally pressed Super+h (fat fingers, I guess :-), which minimized the dialog, but not the application.
I had a hard time to get the dialog back. Because it is a dialog, it is not shown when in none of Alt+Tab, opening the activities, switching directly Alt+Esc, etc. I could not give the focus to the application. I moved the application to an empty workspace (using the overview).
It had happened to me in the past, but I just killed the application from a terminal. This time, I really needed to save the document. So, I opened the settings, and tried to figure out which key I had pressed (Super+h), checked whether it was the default or it was me (it is the default).
I tried to figure out which keyboard shorcut would work to not avail, until out of alternatives I tried Switch systems controls directly (Ctrl+Alt+Escape), and it worked I do know how. First, semantically Switch systems controls directly does not give any clue about its purpose. Furthermore, in my system, Switch systems controls is totally different than Switch systems controls directly (it switches from topbar, navigation and windows).
I wonder if we should really need to minimize/hide the dialogs. An application can be found, but the dialog not.
Steps to reproduce it:
- Open an application that works with documents or media (e.g. gedit)
- Modify the document.
- Press Save.
- When the file chooser opens, press Super+h
I am using Gnome 40.4.0 (from Ubuntu 21.10).
