Bug summary
Some keys, such as arrows, PrtSc and text cursor movement starts the Rhythmbox app.
As far as I know I didn't change any keyboard related setting recently, so I'm sorry that I have no idea what started this behaviour. Since it happens without Rhythmbox being open and also affects mousepad icons, I don't think it is due to Rhythmbox itself.
These problems happen even when I'm logged off (mousepad icon displayed and arrows not working). PrtSc worked as well as displaying the strange behaviour.
Steps to reproduce
With NumLock enabled:
- PrtSc, Home, Pg Up, Pg Dn, End, Left, up and right arrow keys start the Rhythmbox app
- Down arrow key starts the Rhythmbox app and also displays the icon for mousepad disabled (doesn't actually change the mousepad behaviour, the default shortcut for it works normally)
- Del key starts the Rhythmbox app and also displays the icon for mousepad enabled (also doesn't change the mousepad behaviour)
With NumLock disabled:
- Up and right arrow keys don't work
- Down arrow key doesn't work and displays the icon for mousepad disabled
- Left arrow key works normally
- Del key doesn't work and display the icon for mousepad enabled
- Numpad keys work as expected
- Only Ctrl/Shift+Left works normally, but Ctrl/Shift+Down doesn't show the icon for mousepad
What happened
Rhytmbox was opened and sometimes the icon for mousepad enabled/disabled was also displayed.
What did you expect to happen
The keys to be registered.
Relevant logs, screenshots, screencasts etc.
Logging out and on again didn't work. Resetting all shortcuts (and logging out and on again) didn't work. Restarting my computer worked. Didn't try with Xorg instead of Wayland.
I've also found the related questions in askfedora (from 2020) and ubuntuforums (from 2010) and askubuntu (from 2018).
There's mention of a solution in ubuntuforums, but I can't open the URL and I don't know what Mod4 is.
There's mention of sticky keys in askubuntu, but I couldn't find this setting in neither Tweaks nor Settings > Keyboard or Settings > Accessibility.
