Volume indicator stutters while dragging for Bluetooth
Affected version
- Gentoo
- GNOME Shell 41.4
- Seen in XOrg
Bug summary
When dragging the sound icon to raise or lower the volume (especially when doing so quickly), the indicated level interpolates between the original volume and the cursor position, which causes stuttering.
Steps to reproduce
- You may wish to stop playing audio to avoid blasting sound
- Drag the audio slider in GNOME Shell left or right very rapidly
What happened
Slider stutters between cursor position while dragging, and an animated interpolation between original value and new value.
What did you expect to happen
While dragging, slider locks to cursor--even if the audio level is lerped and thus not necessarily the currently indicated level yet. After dragging stops, then perhaps it shows actual level and continues animating to its final position.
Note: I understand why the audio lerping is happening, and I think it's good. The issue is just with the visual UI.
