Runaway process when clicking search result (only for gnome-control-center)
Affected version
- OS: Arch Linux, fresh install
- Gnome-shell: 42.0-0.1
- Gnome control center: 42.rc.0-2
- Running wayland on AMD radeon
Bug summary
It looks like when you search for something that would normally be in settings, e.g. Bluetooth or Appearance, About etc, it shows the relevant entry in the results, but after clicking on the search result nothing happens. Looking at the processes on my machine, gnome-control-center-search-provider starts consuming memory until it eventually crashes or I kill it manually. I have tried creating a fresh test user on my system, but the same issue occurs.
Steps to reproduce
- Hit the super key
- Search for something that would be in settings, e.g. bluetooth
- Click the relevant search result
What happened
Settings does not open, and a process called gnome-control-center-search-provider starts consuming memory until it crashes or I kill it.
What did you expect to happen
The relevant setting will open.
