Steam Scaling Broken on GNOME 42
Affected version
GNOME 42.RC
ENDEAVOUR OS Latest Release
Wayland
Bug summary
Scaling options within steam do absolutely nothing and the standard solutions found on Github or Reddit (GTK_SCALE=2) only make the entire GNOME DE an oversized UI as it outputs 1.25 * 2 scaling. This has been in the Github issues for 4 years now when it comes to Steam. It may be either Steam's lack of Wayland support or GNOME 42's Scaling which I've had issue with on Firefox and a few others. Steam's scaling option found within the settings is ON.
Steps to reproduce
- Install EndeavourOS
- Install Steam through Pacman -S steam
- Login
What did GNOME Shell do that was unexpected?
Make text within steam as well as other elements unreadably small for the Display size
What did you expect to happen
Steam to open normally and HiDPI settings to apply
What did you expect GNOME Shell to do?
Scale Properly to Resolution/Screen Size (picture is a visual representation of how it looks on a 13in screen, as the direct 1080p screenshot looks properly scaled when it is not.
