gnome-extensions create does not create a recognized extension
Affected version
Fedora 34 gnome-shell 40.7-1.fc34 issue appears in wayland
Bug summary
When running the exact same code of the extension writing tutorial ( https://gjs.guide/extensions/development/creating.html#gnome-extensions-tool ), which is:
gnome-extensions create --interactive
with the exact same parameters as in the tutorial, the extension is not recognized:
gnome-extensions enable example@shell.gnome.org
Extension “example@shell.gnome.org” does not exist
I suppose this is the worst impression you can possibly give of a tool, not making the first example in its tutorial work.
Steps to reproduce
- gnome-extensions create --interactive
- gnome extensions enable example@shell.gnome.org
- extension does not exist
What happened
The skeleton extension was created but not recognized by gnome-shell
What did you expect to happen
The extension is recognized and enabled
Relevant logs, screenshots, screencasts etc.
