Drag and drop: Window foregrounding should occur when moving dragged item towards another window
Feature summary
On other platforms, when dragging an item between two windows overlapping each other (e.g. two gnome files windows), the underlying window comes to the foreground after a holding the item over the window for a period of time (e.g. 1 second). Requesting for Gnome to have a similar feature.
(Note: this issue doesn't specifically concern workspaces, but may be a complement to related issues)
How would you like it to work
Assume you have two windows on a single workspace, where Window A is at the foreground (i.e. top) and overlaps and occludes Window B. User should be able to:
- Click and Drag item from Window A.
- While dragging, move cursort with item to visible area of Window B.
- After a period of time (e.g. 1 second), Window B should become the foreground window.
The feature should have an aspect of 'reversibility'. If a user cancels the drag and drop action (e.g. by hitting escape), the sourcing window for the dragged item (in this example Window A) should come back into the foreground.
