Zoom-in animation from overview sometimes focuses random window and then switches instantly to the last-focused one
Affected version
- Fedora 35
- gnome-shell-41.0-1.fc35.x86_64
Bug summary
Sometimes, when exiting the overview, the Shell starts to animate zoom-in to the wrong, seemingly random different application that wasn't previously focused and switches to the right app right after the animation ends.
Doesn't happen without 3D acceleration or with disabled animations. I was able to reproduce it on X11 only for now.
Steps to reproduce
- Have bunch of opened applications (I was able to reproduce this with Chromium, Firefox, Nautilus, GNOME Calendar)
- Switch to overview, either with Super key or hot corner
- Move with the mouse a bit in the overview, had higher chance of triggering this by moving over apps and buttons in the bottom third
- Press supper key to exit the Overview
What happened
GNOME Shell sometimes starts the zoom-in animation into a wrong window and switches to the correct one after the animation.
What did you expect to happen
GNOME Shell should start the zoom-in/overview exit animation into the right window.
