QOL suggestions for gnome for the OSK and shell
Feature summary
-
I would like to split the OSK in half on each side of the screen. This would make the OSK much more ergo-dynamic and tablet mode friendly. This would reduce "chicken tap touch typing" to almost zero and allow for much faster typing.
-
(1) notwithstanding gnome OSK should take advantage of the screen real estate. the current OSK is too small and stands in the middle of the screen making it nearly impossible to use.
-
I would like to be either be able to scale gnome to my resolution or to able to increase certain UI buttons like the top bar close button or the font when the screen is detected to have a resolution that makes the ui small and difficult to see and use. The alternatives either Gnome-tweaks or the bash commmand to allow an alternate scaling method just creates a blurry and perverse enviroment.

allow us to close apps in the overview without using the mouse to hover and click (X)
How would you like it to work
(1) You could split the current OSK having the halfs orient themselves to the border of the display, the middle could be opaque and hold the settings such as the language changer, emojis, etc. This could be disabled by default and have a tooltip hint pop-up during the first OSK usage so people who want to can enable it at their choosing conserving gnome simplicity.
(2) The keyboard could just be expanded to properly take advantage of the screen size perhaps by using the screen edge as a border?
(3) The current scaling solution could be edited to include 100, 150, 200 bridging the gap betwen horribly small and horribly big. An alternative scaling solution would be to allow buttons to expand in size as the scale of the toolbar increases.
(4) you can make the x always appear or allow us to shove or drag apps into a receptacle or off the screen.
