The show-desktop
Affected version
3.38.5
Bug summary
Multiple shortcuts assigned to one desktop feature, "Hide all normal windows", which overlaps with combinations in other software.
I wanted to re-assign ctrl+alt+d to not show the desktop but Gnome Settings shows a different key combination was in use already! So what was I supposed to be changing?
Using dconf-editor, I could see there was actually 3 shortcuts assigned to this one feature.
Using the Gnome Settings I was able to change the value to be just super+d, and dconf-editor displayed the change correctly.
It's not clear there are multiple shortcuts, or that changing the shortcut will override the 3 defaults.
Steps to reproduce
Using super+d, ctrl+alt+d, or ctrl+super+d all minimize desktop applications. Gnome settings shows only a single shortcut assigned to that feature.
What happened
All shortcuts will "Hide all normal windows".
What did you expect to happen
- Not for Gnome to have 3 shortcuts for one feature...
- Or for the keyboard shortcuts interface to correctly display and handle multiple shortcuts without resorting to installing dconf-editor.
