Weather doesn't show in Gnome 40 shell dropdown, just "Select weather location..."
Affected version:
Fedora 34 GNOME Shell 40.1 Appears in both Xorg and Wayland
Bug summary
The weather should show in the shell dropdown menu underneath the calendar, but opening the Gnome Weather application and selecting a weather location does not update the weather in the dropdown menu. Instead, all that is shown is: "Select weather location..." Is there a way to manually set the weather location so the shell menu shows the weather in Gnome 40? I am using the vanilla Gnome 40 shell with no extra extensions enabled on Fedora 34. I'm not sure if I am missing something or if this is a bug. I should clarify that adding World Clocks does show in the dropdown menu of the shell. I would appreciate any input.
Steps to reproduce
- Open Gnome 40 shell dropdown menu with calendar. Observe the status of the weather tab under the calendar, it only shows "Select weather location"
- Click on the tab, select location in Gnome Weather, then exit.
- Observe that the weather tab has not changed to reflect location in the shell.
What happened
The Gnome 40 shell did not remember the weather location I selected in Gnome Weather.
What did you expect to happen
I expected the Gnome shell to show the weather in the tab of the dropdown menu of the shell.
