[GNOME 40] [feature] Separate notification center from calendar
Feature summary
Separate the notification center from the calendar and place them in different places in the GNOME Shell interface.
How would you like it to work
Understanding that this can be controversial and that there must have been good reasons for the designers to promote this change, in practice it seems puzzling how it works today. The frequent comment from users not familiar with GNOME but with experience with mobile devices or desktop systems (windows/macOS) is "Why does the notification center appear in the clock menu? And in the same sense, why the playback control appears in the clock menu? Those same people when asked where they would look in the first place, indicated the system menu.
Even my nephew gave me a curious explanation that on his android phone there was a unified system menu that shows notifications and shows a clock and it is not a clock that includes a notification center in the menu (trying to explain his point to me).
GNOME 40 brought big changes to the 3.x paradigm which shows that not everything is immovable and such a change can be made. Ease of use continues to be a mainstay of GNOME.
For me the suggestion is simple. Maintain the location of the clock and in its menu show the calendar, events, weather, etc. On the other hand, move the notification center to an independent menu in the same sector of the system menu (like accessibility menu) using the indistinguishable icon of a bell.
